At the beginning of October, the BioCannDo-project headed to the Maker Faire in Rome, a large event welcoming innovators, technology developers and creative entrepreneurs. In Rome, we asked no less than 155 visitors about the daily choices they make when shopping food and their thoughts about bio-based food packaging. The results of our consumer survey will improve the project’s understanding of consumer behaviour and perceptions of bio-based food packaging.
The BioCannDo-team also attracted great interest with its “bioplastic street”, an experimental set-up with successive practical activities where students and visitors could make bio-based plastic from natural raw materials such as potato starch. From school student to bioplastic producer in merely a few minutes: can do!
