What do ‘game-changers’, ‘wild-cards’ and Mad Max have in common? They have all been part of the IMPRESSIONS stakeholder workshop that brought together a multidisciplinary and multicultural group 60 stakeholders and project partners from all over Europe. Taking place from 24 – 27 April 2018 in Tiszafüred, Hungary, this workshop concluded 5 years of the European Union-funded IMPRESSIONS research project exploring ‘impact and risks from high-end scenarios: strategies for innovative solutions’ and brought together stakeholders from all five case studies (Hungary, Iberia, Scotland, Europe and Central Asia). Prospex is proud to have co-organised, designed and facilitated the workshop.
Aiming to arrive at a holistic exploration of the, in previous stages of the project created, visions, scenarios, strategies and modelling, the research team and workshop participants cross-compared different local, regional, national, and European scales. In four respective break-out groups, Prospex moderators stimulated discussions on the robustness of the developed strategies by introducing different tools of foresight – “wildcards” and “game-changers”. Participants further identified support needs and implications for EU policy-making, as well as explored implications and fresh ideas for their own personal development and work areas.
Following the workshop, Prospex gathered, analysed and reported on the outputs of the workshop. The report summarizing stakeholders’ feedback will directly inform the project’s work and final conclusions.
